Inside: I’m on my third pair of Kyrgies slippers, after thoroughly wearing out each previous pair. In this honest Kyrgies Review, I share my top three reasons why I keep coming back to Kyrgies, and what you need to know about how quickly they wear out.
Much to the dismay of my family, I insist on keeping our home thermostat set to 65 degrees all winter long. What can I say? I pay the bills, and even though we prebuy our propane every year, the cost per gallon is going up, up, up.
And if you insist on walking around in summer clothing in the smack dab middle of January, don’t even tell me you’re cold. Put.on.more.clothes.
Just me? Please tell me I’m not the only one.
I honestly don’t understand the resistance to wearing cozy cold weather clothes! I’ll take sweatpants and Bombas and sweaters and slippers and all the fall/winter things over bathing suits and shorts and tank tops any day.
There’s a reason we moved back to the northeast from the south. I’d much rather hibernate in cozy forever winter than in gross forever summer.
But if there is one thing I do hate, it’s perpetually cold feet in the winter, which brings me to my favorite slippers of all time: Kyrgies.

Krygies Slippers Review: 3 Reasons I Keep Coming Back for More
THIS POST PROBABLY CONTAINS AFFILIATE LINKS. AS AN AMAZON ASSOCIATE, I EARN FROM QUALIFYING PURCHASES. YOU CAN READ OUR FULL DISCLOSURE POLICY HERE.
Before I jump into the review, this is NOT a sponsored post and it doesn’t even include affiliate links for Kyrgies! I simply love these slippers, but want people to be aware of what they’re getting when they buy them.
Last year, when my Kyrgies were getting holes, I briefly considered cheaper slippers. Surely I could save some money and skip the more expensive slippers, right?
So I snagged $15 slippers from Costco. And I tried, I really really tried.
But my feet – and subsequently, my back – had thoughts. They spoke up. Loudly. And demanded that I go back to my Kyrgies immediately.
I obeyed, returned the inferior slippers and went back to my wearing out Kyrgies, determined to get at least one more winter out of them.
This year, I finally accepted that I’d completely worn out my beloved two-year-old pair and bought new ones.
Here’s why I love my Kyrgies and consider them a worthwhile investment every 2-3 years.

1. They keep my feet warm, but not sweaty, all winter long.
Because hyperthyroid disease (which can cause cold feet and hands) runs in my family, I have my thyroid checked annually. But despite my numbers being fine up to this point, my hands and feet get really cold in the winter. I’m talking icicle level cold.
Could it have something to do with the aforementioned 65 degree thermostat? Maaaaybe?
You will find me with a hot cup of something almost round the clock in the wintertime. And always always wearing my Bombas socks and Kyrgies slippers.
While I have yet to find a way to keep my fingers toasty warm round the clock, the socks and Kyrgies slipper combo does the job for my feet.
The wool keeps my feet toasty warm, but not sweaty warm. I’m convinced the wool has a lot to do with why they’re the perfect slipper.

2. They don’t hurt my back.
I already told you about my $15 Costco slipper mistake. Kyrgies have never hurt my back.
Maybe this is what almost 40 feels like? But all of a sudden my back is super particular about what kinds of shoes it will and will not tolerate.
Besides the cheap slipper incident, last year I purchased a pair of running sneakers that were very similar to the worn out pair that had given me zero problems up until that point.
And after running just a few miles in them, I had the absolute worst hip and back pain I’d ever had in my life. I’m talking pain so bad, I had to take ibuprofen to sleep. I was doing hip exercises and sitting on a heating pad off and on all day for weeks.
When I finally recovered, I went back to the running store and exchanged them for Topos (their wide toe box is the best!). My back and hips eventually forgave me, which is good because I can’t imagine a world where I do not run.
Apparently almost 40 means staying loyal to shoes that don’t hurt your back. But I digress.

3. They are made at a women-owned factory that pays fair wages and uses sustainable materials.
I’m not a perfect consumer by any means. Case in point: the Starbucks coffee in the photo above and yes, Amazon drivers are at my house way to often.
But as much as I can, I try to support brands and businesses that align with my values.
For instance, I keep buying Bombas because they’re warm, cozy, awesome socks, AND they donate one pair of socks to the homeless for every pair purchased. We shop at Costco and stopped shopping at Target because we want to support DEI hiring practices.
I love that Kyrgies supports women ownership and sustainable practices!
This is straight from their website…
“We partner with a women-owned factory in Bishkek that pays fair wages and employs mostly women, supporting economic opportunity and social progress.
Our environmental approach is just as intentional. We use locally sourced wool, vegetable-tanned leather, and minimal, recycled packaging to reduce our footprint at every step.”

They Do Wear Out With Daily Wear, So Do Some Types of Kyrgies Last Longer Than Others?
Here’s where the honest part comes in: Kyrgies do wear out with daily, round the clock use.
In the fall of 2023, I bought the gray Indoor Wool Slides.
They started getting a hole or two after ten months of daily use. After two years, they were basically falling apart. I needed a new pair.
My first pair of Krygies were the classics – adopted when my oldest abandoned hers. I can’t say for sure how long they would have lasted if I’d had them from the beginning, but they definitely didn’t get as many holes as the wool slides.
This time around, because I’m all about maximizing my investment, I decided to get the classics again to see if they hold up better than the wool slides. I’ll be sure to update this post in 2-3 years.
Either way, I guess two years of daily, round the clock use isn’t horrible for around $45 a year?
The Tengries were always a hard pass for me. They looked way too tight around the ankle. The Woven Slides? I might try them one day. I’m also curious if the ones made for outdoor use would hold up longer indoors.
For now, I’ll enjoy my classics for the next 2-3 years. The wool slides definitely come in more fun colors, though, so if the classics end up wearing out in the same time frame, I will probably go back to the slides.
Just a heads up, they are true to size – I bought the 7.5-8 size, and they fit my size 8 foot perfectly. They might take a few days to break in and stretch out, so you might want to ease into them. But after you wear them in, they fit like a glove.
So if you’re in the market for a new pair of slippers, try Kyrgies and let me know what you think.
